Napoli to Texas, Weekend Radio Sports

If they like him so much, why do they keep letting him go? Mike Napoli, who helped lead the Cleveland Indians to the World Series last season, has rejoined the Texas Rangers for the third time, calling it a great opportunity to be back with his first World Series team. The Rangers re-introduced Napoli– as if they had to–on Thursday morning, with the expectation to be the primary first baseman and provide another big bat for Texas.
Napoli has played in the World Series for three different teams over the past six seasons. He went to the World Series with Texas in 2011, was let go, and became a big part of the championship team in Boston that won the Series in 2013, before helping the Indians to get all the way to Game 7 last year. Napoli will get $6 million from the Rangers, with an $11 million club option for 2018 and a $2.5 million buyout.
