Captains Beat West Michigan, Indians Preview

The last-place Lake County Captains are showing real signs of improvement, especially the way they played Thursday night at Eastlake’s Classic Park in the opener of a four-game series against the West Michigan Whitecaps.
The Captains won it, 4-2. It was their third straight victory after losing seven of their previous 10 games.
Starter Juan Hillman dug in his heels after giving up a single run in the top of the first and two more in the top of the second, and left-hander Tanner Tully followed him to the mound and closed the door, limiting the Whitecaps to one base hit in four scoreless innings. Tully is a former Ohio State standout who shares starts with Hillman on a piggyback basis. He improved to 2-2 with a 1.60 ERA. Catch the Captains on Sunday at 1:10pm on ESPN 970 WFUN.

The Indians open a weekend series in Houston against the AL West-leading Astros tonight. Coverage begins at 7:37pm on ESPN 970 WFUN.
