‘Drive Sober’ Campaign Kicks off at Ashtabula Co. Fair

The Ashtabula County Safe Communities Coalition kicked off its annual “Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over” campaign Friday at the Ashtabula County Fair with presentations from elected officials and law enforcement. One of the things speakers noted was that Ohio’s drunk driving laws have changed in the past year. Penalties have increased across the board on OVI convictions. The so-called ‘look back period’ was extended from 6 to 10 years for prior incidents. Mandatory minimum license suspensions have also increased, and requirements for court-ordered ignition interlock devices have changed.
