Ashtabula woman pleads guilty by reason of insanity in deadly domestic dispute

JEFFERSON — The 42 year old Ashtabula woman accused of fatally shooting her boyfriend will undergo competency and sanity evaluations. According to court records, Joleen R. McEndree, is facing several charges in the death of Jamie McCann, 47, at their West Eighth Street home on June 30. She pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, and will be evaluated, Thursday, at the Ashtabula County jail, according to court records. McEndree reportedly confessed to killing McCann after what she told police was a “domestic dispute.” She is being held on a $1 million bond.
