Painesville Man Acquitted Twice

A Painesville man was acquitted recently of criminal charges in two separate trials. 64-year-old Anthony Jeffries, accused in a 2016 burglary at a Wickliffe motel, was found not guilty on all counts. In a separate case, Jefferies was charged with four additional felony counts of receiving stolen property, breaking and entering, attempted grand theft and possessing criminal tools. In that case, Jefferies was again acquitted on all counts in a jury trial that ended Sept. 18. Jefferies was arrested last year in connection with a criminmal incident at the Econo Lodge, accroding to court records. Defense attorney Paul E. Miller represented him in both trials.
