Browns NFL Draft QB Preview

At 0-and-12, the Cleveland Browns will likely have an opportunity for a do-over after the 2017 pre-draft debacle when it comes to available quarterbacks… lest we forget the Brock Osweiller deal. With #12 pick DeShaun Watson of the 2017 class having a break-out rookie season for the Houston Texans before injury, and Mentor’s Mitchell Trubisky– the #2 overall pick– looking promising for the Chicago Bears, there’s plenty of “what if” second-guessing going around the Browns’ front office, with the April draft in Arlington, Texas soon upon us. Cleveland rookie QB DeShone Kizer has shown flashes, but it’s a no-brainer quarterback will be on the team’s radar. They’ll also likely need a running back as Isaiah Crowell is a free agent this offseason. USC quarterback Sam Darnold has denied rumors that he would rather stay in school than go to the Browns, and Cleveland’s interest in mercurial Oklahoma Heisman frontrunner Baker Mayfield is unclear, with early speculation that he may end up with the New York Giants.
