Private Eastlake yacht club facing excessive force lawsuit

Money, the Chagrin Harbor Beach Association says, is what motivated a private Eastlake yacht club to illegally allow trespassers onto private property for profit. The Chagrin Harbor Beach Yacht Club was originally permitted to use the common areas for various activities, but the association, said the Fishing Club “went rogue” when it began charging members to access their own property, encouraged public trespassing and hosted money-raising events on the association’s land. The association, made up of land owneres, has filed a lawsuit asking a judge to evict the Fishing Club off the River Drive property.
