Memorial Day weekend will be one of the most traveled in the last decade

Despite rising gas prices, experts say this Memorial Day weekend will be one of the most traveled in the last decade. According to AAA, more than 41.5 million Americans will travel on Memorial Day weekend, an almost 5 percent increase from last last year and the most in more than a dozen years. The busiest travel days are expected to be this Thursday and Friday, despite the highest gas prices since 2014, according to a news release from AAA. Gas prices averaged $2.72 per gallon nationwide in April, a 33-cent increase from last year. Locally, according to Gas Buddy, prices ranged from $2.69 to $2.74 per gallon last week.
