A former Ashtabula city councilman is facing felony charges

JEFFERSON – A former Ashtabula city councilman is facing felony charges. Reginald M. Holman has been indicted for false voter registration, stemming from an incident in which he allegedly registered in a precinct that he is not a registered voter, when he filed his candidacy petition. The Board of Elections unanimously determined Holman was not a resident of the W. 43rd St., and removed him from the voter registration rolls, according to the press release. No arraignment date has been scheduled.

JEFFERSON – A hearing date for the case involving former Ashtabula City Councilwoman Kristy Hosken has been set to take place in Ashtabula County Common Pleas court next month. Hosken, a Republican, is challenging the appointment two weeks ago, of her Democratic opponent to fill the Ward 3 city council seat. Hosken, who lost her bid for re-election last November to Democrat Reginald Holman, has filed a request for a temporary restraining order in County Common Pleas Court. According to the complaint, Holman was not a valid candidate and therefore, Hosken was the only rightful candidate on the November ballot.
